Fleet renewed and expanded: Two new Liebherr mobile cranes for Mikschl Autokrane GmbH
- New LTM 1070-4.2 replaces 60-tonne mobile crane
- LTM 1230-5.1 replaces 220-tonne mobile crane in the upper lifting capacity range
- Crane drivers: Liebherr impress with driver comfort
Mikschl Autokrane GmbH from Aichach has invested in two new Liebherr mobile cranes to modernise its fleet: an LTM 1070-4.2 and an LTM 1230-5.1. The compact 70-tonne crane offers high lifting capacity and flexibility on construction sites, while the 5-axle crane with VarioBase® and a long telescopic boom is ideal for demanding jobs.
“Our fleet always has the latest cranes on the market – this enables us to avoid crane breakdowns and provide our customers with the best possible support in realising their projects,” says Roland Mikschl, Managing Director of Mikschl Autokrane GmbH. For this reason, an LTM 1070-4.2 is now replacing a 60-tonne mobile crane. “The new 70-tonne crane is a very compact 4-axle crane that can be used on almost all construction sites in its class. Above all, it is a very powerful crane that allows us to carry a lot of ballast when travelling on the road.” In addition, ECOmode and ECOdrive ensure reduced fuel consumption and minimise noise. The active, speed-dependent rear axle steering makes the crane all-terrain capable and manoeuvrable.
Additional new 5-axle crane ordered
From telescopic cranes to mobile construction cranes and loader cranes, Mikschl’s fleet previously comprised eight machines. “We have now expanded our small but excellent fleet in the 230-tonne load capacity class. We have also ordered the ninth crane from Liebherr and it is an LTM 1230-5.1,” reports Mikschl. The 5-axle crane is equipped with VarioBase® Plus, which makes it possible to generate particularly high lifting capacities via the widened outriggers, especially in the rear working area – calculated in real time by the LICCON control system. At 75 metres, the LTM 1230-5.1 also offers a very long telescopic boom and impresses with its high lifting capacities. The 5-axle mobile crane is the ideal crane for working at steep angles and high hook heights, for example when assembling tower cranes or maintaining wind turbines.
Impressive service, spare parts supply and convenience
“We opted for two new cranes from Ehingen because we were impressed by the fast and good service. Spare parts are always available and can be provided quickly,” explains Mikschl, adding: “Our drivers also say that Liebherr mobile cranes offer the best travelling comfort.” The crane and transport service provider from Aichach employs a total of twelve people and is also deployed in Munich, Augsburg, Ingolstadt and Donauwörth. Since arriving on the company premises, the two new cranes have also been in daily use on small and large construction sites.
